Samsung Galaxy S8 Review: Latest Smartphone Opens Way To The New Phase Of Mobile Technology

Samsung finally introduced the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. A lot of rumors and speculations about these phone specs spreading online these past few months, but as the South Korean Electronic company unveil these latest devices, it proves that these new smartphones are really opening the door to the new phase of mobile technology.

The main attraction of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is the wider and bigger screen. These handset devices are the first ever smartphone introduces a full-screen device. Ditching out the Samsung trademark home button to give a wider space for the screen, which a lot of tech fanatics would like to see on their mobile devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus has 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch screen size, respectively. The fingerprint scanner which usually placed in the home button got moved to the back of the device. As Stuff report noted, the phones have some similarities to the S7 Edge such as the curved edge screen, which also first introduced by Samsung.

For the performance, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have a reliable in-house Samsung developed powerful Exynos 8895 processor. According to Samsung, it packs at least 10% more oomph than the already powerful Exynos CPU used in the S7 Edge. The S8 comes with 64GB Internal storage with expandable support. However, despite being expected to have more RAM, the device only got 4GB, which is not bad after all.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus have 12MP rear sensors. The aperture is f/1.7 which allows them to shoot passable photos under low-light conditions. Another is the surprising 3.5mm headphone jack that many thought Samsung will also remove in their products since Apple started the trend with their iPhone 7.

Bigger design requires a bigger battery, thus Samsung Galaxy S8 use 3,000mAh non-removable battery. Other amazing things in these devices are the Bixby and Samsung DeX. With the high-tech DeX pod device, it allows users to use their device like a desktop computer by attaching it on a larger screen and keyboard.

Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are powered by Android Nougat, and probably upgradable into new Android version when it releases soon. The device price ranges from $1,300 to $1,500 USD and will release to the market next month.
