Android 7.1.2 Rolling Out To Pixel C and Nexus Player Handset Devices, Android O Coming On The Last Quarter Of 2017

Android Nougat 7.1.2 is now available to Pixel C and Nexus Player, bringing Pixel Launcher and finger print scanner to the supported device.

Google is reportedly now rolling out the Android Nougat 7.1.2 to another new supported device. Users report that the new operating system update is now available to their Pixel C and Nexus Player devices.

The company first released the Android Nougat version 7.1.2 Beta in January 2017 and then followed by another Beta in March. Also, multiple reports claim that the new operating system version is being pushed to users outside the beta program.

Noted by Android Police report the new Android Nougat version 7.1.2 update is just a minor update, bringing a few new features on the supported handset devices. The Pixel's fingerprint scanner gesture is now available for the Nexus 6P and 5X, the Pixel Launcher has made it to the Pixel C, and you can choose where to set live wallpapers.

The Google Android Nougat version 7.1.2 update also includes another new feature for the receiving devices. According to the sources, the new beta brought a new battery usage alerts list to show any misbehaving apps in the smartphone. The battery section of the Settings now includes a new option called "Usage Alerts" in the overflow menu, which lists any apps that are consuming too much battery.

The Android Central also reported that the Android Nougat 7.1.2 update would also contain bug fixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users. According to them, a Canadian carrier who has plans to push a substantial update on April 3 for the Pixel phones, speculates the exact features of the OS update before it was released.

Speaking of Android, the newest version of the Google mobile OS, the Android O, is confirmed to be released this year. They also reveal some key details about the OS and the first developer preview supported devices, including Pixel and Nexus smartphones.
