MacBook Pro 2016 Being Left Out By Apple? Trademark Application Hints Of MacBook Pro Going Back To Its Roots
Cupertino-based tech firm Apple has recently rolled out a combo of updates to their roster of devices. Tech buffs, however, have come to notice that the company seemed to have forgotten their ultraportable PC - the MacBook Pro.
The company reignited Apple users' interest with the MacBook Pro in 2016 as it released an iteration of the notebook donning the so-called Touch Bar strip. However, the flame died out soon enough as issues arose about the notebook especially with the aforementioned new feature.
Five months after the MacBook Pro came out, it looks like the device has been left in the dark by Apple as the badly needed updates never came in huge amounts. Furthermore, just like the current iPhone 7, the company also dislodged some familiar elements that were previously present on MacBook Pro 2016's predecessors.
A notable component is a MagSafe connector where users can magnetically recharge the MacBook minus the worry of it getting damaged when someone accidentally trips on its cord. The absence of such feature has irked some consumers as it is one of the popular dongles of MacBook Pro's previous renders, according to Droid Report.
Additionally, the SD card reader was also shelved in the new MacBook Pro which is still essential to most users as some of them are using SD cards in saving their data. Even the lights at the back of the MacBook Pro that lights up Apple's iconic logo was also scrapped.
As of late, it is believed that the next MacBook Pro might go back to its roots as the company recently applied for a global trademark for the moniker PowerBook. For the uninitiated, it was the name given by Apple to their first ever laptop the came to fruition in 1991, The Sun reported.
Apple's legal director - Thomas La Perle, applied for the said trademark as it is registered to 1 Infinite Loop in San Jose, California.
