Windows 10 Free Upgrade Destroyed a Computer; Causing Case Filed Against Microsoft For Hardware Damage & Loss All Data

Complainants file case to Microsoft when the Windows 10 Free Upgrade damage their computers and loss all data.

Three people filed cases against the Microsoft after claiming that the Windows 10 upgrade destroyed their computer data and damaged their hardware. According to them, the software is defective and there's a risk in installing it that the Microsoft failed to make it clear.

"As the result of its failure to exercise reasonable care, Microsoft distributed the Windows 10 system upgrade that was liable to cause loss of computer data or damage to hardware." the complaint said on the Chicago's District Court.

Also, the complaints allege that hundreds of users have also been affected by the Windows 10 upgrade problem and issues. The Independent cited that the complaints will seek to have the case certified as a class-action suit, which would include every US citizen user who upgrades the software from Windows 7 and suffered data loss or damage within 30 days.

As the complainants added, the Windows 10 upgrade often installs itself without any action being taken by the PC users. According to Howard Goldberg, one of the complaints, after deciding to install the Windows 10 Update after months of being requested to download it, the result was only totally destroyed the computer and lost all data.

Stephanie Watson and Robert Saiger, complaints similar problem. They even hired professionals in trying to fix and save their computers from being damaged due to the Windows 10 Upgrade, but nothing happens and they ended up buying new machines.

With all these complaints, Microsoft has dismissed the claims as without merit. According to them, the Windows 10 free upgrade program was designed to help the users for more secure and more productive system. Every user has the option to whether they want the upgrade or not, however, the company is also offering free services to downgrade the machine if they don't like the new system. The Register noted.
