Gladius Underwater Remote Controlled Drone Set To Launch: Taking 4K Underwater Videos In 100-meter Depth Is Now Easier Than Ever Before

As the aerial camera drone becoming common, there is a new device coming soon to the market. This device, called Gladius is similar to the drones, but very different on the other way as it takes videos underwater instead of aerial videos.

Actually, there are already a lot of company making submarine-like remote controlled aquatic drones, some of the available devices are the; Trident, FathomOne, BlueROV2 and CCROV. But, as the newest aquatic device, this Gladius has some features slightly advance from the similar devices.

The Gladius remote controlled submarine-like drone is weighted up to 3kg and equipped with Wi-Fi buoy that's towed along at the surface. Users can control the drone up to 30 meters away using the controller that can attach to any smartphone devices.

Slightly bigger than the 14 inches folded laptop, the Gladius submarine drone has a four propeller, or thruster, attached to its body. Two vertically installed on the back and another two horizontally attached to its center body.

Also, the Gladius uses 1,200-lumen LED arrays to help users take pictures and videos in deep water where cannot be penetrated by sunlight. Of course, light is necessary for this submarine-like drone can dive up to 100 meters of depth under water. Speaking of camera, it also uses a camera which can take images and videos from different angles.

According to Tech Crunch report, the Gladius aquatic drone will have two variants, a standard model and an advanced model. The standard model uses 1080p underwater videos capable camera while the advanced model can take videos up to 4K resolution of quality.

There is no official schedule when this Gladius drone will be launched, but it will come soon after the crowdfunding ends. The company estimated that thess drones retail price is $1,399 and $1,699 USD for standard and advance model, respectively.
