"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" open world environment is one of its key selling points that made it one of Nintendo's best-selling titles on both Switch and Wii U. Despite its massive file size, this has served some sort of a challenge to programmers in the emulator realm in porting the game to a different playing field.

The hacking collective that goes by the moniker Team CEMU, has been maintaining a Wii U emulator for PC since its conception in 2015. The most recent update of the emulator has allegedly made it possible for "Breath of the Wild" to be playable on a desktop PC which was initially thought by CEMU developers to gobble up more time for it to be released.

For the uninitiated, CEMU has a Patreon account and is being backed up by over 5,000 financiers and rakes in a monthly contribution amounting to $22,000. As of late, Nintendo has yet to make a statement about the recent development.

With the recent CEMU patch, players can do pretty much everything with "Breath of the Wild" on PC. However, unlike the Switch and Wii U versions, the game's emulator version might annoy fans visually due to its framerate. Both Switch and Wii U players are well acquainted with the fact that the title's framerate occasionally goes down to 20 at some point during gameplay. In CEMU's case, it could go as low as 10, according to VentureBeat. Such issue could be deemed as a minor setback by Team CEMU as the aforementioned contributions from their backers keep pouring in not to mention the team's eagerness in solving the emulated game's frame rate concern.

Meanwhile, players who have already come across with "Breath of the Wild's" "The Lost Pilgrimage" shrine quest consider the mentioned part of the game as a bad mission. Game pundits even compare it to "Final Fantasy XV's" infamous 13th chapter dubbed "Redemption" where the Noctis needs to embark on a journey in locating the crystal and at the same time surviving on his own.

What got on the nerves of most players is that it has the workings of being an "insta-fail" game level where the tiniest of mistakes will cause them to repeat the whole mission regardless of their progress, according to Kotaku. The mission is all about Link being asked by a Korok named Tasho to watch over his friend Oaki as the latter is determined to look for the shrine all by himself.
