Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date: DeX Docking Station Launches On March 29; Pricing, Color Revealed Via Leak
Samsung Galaxy S8 day of release is also expected to feature the launch of the new accessory called Samsung Desktop Experience docking station, or also known as DeX. Just recently, a new image of the said dock allegedly leaked, including the mobile phone's color and pricing days before it officially launches on March 29.
More Samsung Galaxy S8 DeX Dock Details Revealed
Previous reports reveal that Samsung Galaxy S8 is supposed to connect to with the DeX docking station, with an external PC mouse, monitor, and keyboard in order for the phone to be used similarly to a desktop PC. An artist's render of the dock was reportedly posted to a German site, suggesting as well that it will come with an embedded cooling fan inside.
However, it was not explained why a cooling situation would be required for the DeX. It is also likely that Samsung wants to prevent the phone from heating up while in a desktop PC mode.
Samsung Galaxy S8's dock is also expected to include an HDMI port and will support PC monitors with up to 4K resolution and 30fps frame rates. According to reports, DeX will also include two USB 2.0 ports to possibly hook up the keyboard and mouse.
An Ethernet port on the Samsung Galaxy S8 dock that supports up to 100 Mbps of bandwidth is also expected. It could help those who want to connect the phone to a faster-wired internet connection with no help from a slower cellular or WiFi connection, Android Authority reported.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks Reveal Likely Pricing And Color
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to release later this month, and based on a recent tweet by the gadget leaker Evan Blass, the smartphone will come in three color variants - black sky, orchid gray and arctic silver.
