The Gem Ruby lies unconscious in the recent episode of "Steven Universe."

Anime crossovers is a common thing in Japan between two equally popular franchises. It looks like such trend is slowly inching its way to western animation as Cartoon Network's  highly popular "Steven Universe" has subtly chipped in a "Dragon Ball Z" reference in one of its episodes.

The Eternal Flame better known to fellow Gems as Ruby was the center of attention in the recent episode of "Steven Universe." A screen capture featuring the scarlet toned Gem where she can be seen lying unconscious inside a crater has been the main topic of most fans on Reddit as of late. It may seem an ordinary scene within that episode, though some came to their senses and realized that Ruby's fallen pose has a striking similarity to "Dragon Ball Z's" Yamcha, according to Comicbook.

"Dragon Ball Z" and "Dragon Ball Super" buffs are very much aware of such tragedy that befallen to the Z-warrior. During the time where Nappa and Vegeta first set foot on earth, Yamcha challenged the former, though the Saiyan declined the invitation. Instead, Nappa tapped a Saibaman horde to fight for him.

Unfortunately, the alien was literally explosive in nature as it blew itself up alongside Yamcha killing the earthling in the process. The famous death pose was then immortalized and is currently used as a meme by most web users.

The baseball match episode between Universe 6 and 7 in "Dragon Ball Super" also seems to pay homage to such pose as Yamcha was seen again sporting that fallen stance. The good thing though is that their team won the said match.

Going back to "Steven Universe," the animated series is slated to invade game consoles yet again as game developer Grumpyface Studios and series creator Rebecca Sugar have teamed up to develop a new "Steven" game to be dubbed as "Steven Universe: Save The Light." Moreover, the game is bound to be rolled out sometime during summer and is now confirmed to be available on PlayStation 4, WWG has learned.
