Google Hangouts app may have come out with a bang but the bubble did not last too long before it was put on the backburner. However, Hangouts is back and it has also received a major revamp.

The new features of Hangouts app were announced at Google Cloud's Next Conference. The application will now focus on two different experiences-Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat.
The revamp is in line with Google's motive of developing their communication tools to work according to the way teams work. After several rounds of speculation, Google has finally addressed the future of Hangouts and things seem to be looking up.

What does this mean for the users? Hangouts Meet is a new collaborative video conferencing service that will allow people to effortlessly connect with their colleagues and interact with better efficiency.

As elaborated on the Google blog, this feature will allow users to easily join the meeting with one shared link. Users don't require additional plugins or software to be downloaded. For G suite enterprise members, Meet also comes with a dial-in number allowing people to connect to meetings easily without worrying about data or Wi-Fi issues, reports Droid-Life.Also, it will automatically integrate with the calendars. Even for Chat, Google has revamped the traditional Hangouts Chat to include more corporate features in line with the way modern teams talk. It also permits third party apps.

What about the traditional Hangouts? As curiosity surrounding the new features of Hangouts continues to grow, users are keen to know the fate of the existing interface that they are using. As of now, there is no clarity on what happens to the existing Hangouts that is purely consumer driven.
