iPhone 8 Update: Never Before Seen Feature For The Upcoming iPhone Device On Cue?

Apple may have been silent about their upcoming flagship phone, but recently, it seems like the brand is teasing with its newly awarded patent. Apparently, a new feature of iPhone 8 has appeared several times from insiders and analysts' reports.


Apple's patent for "Enhanced face detection using depth information", as firstly discovered by AppleInsider, suggests a new way feature face detection by letting the iPhone 8's camera recording depth map of a scene and detect human faces. This feature will open a window for each detected face, scaling accordingly by depending on where the window emerges on the depth map.


The new technology that is assumed to come together with iPhone 8 comes from a company called Primesense. This brand is responsible for the technology behind the original Kinect. In 2013, it is reported that the company was finally acquired by Apple.


Meanwhile, the famous KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned about a feature that an iPhone 8, or whatever Apple is planning to call it. He said that the American brand will produce a "revolutionary" front-facing camera and infrared module capable of sensing 3D space." If they will base on Tim Cook's perception with augmented reality, perhaps most part of this is going to be true.


Moreover, the upcoming iPhone 8's patent suggests that the methods "may be used in a vehicle-mounted system for automatic detection and reading of traffic signs," which basically teases about the arrival of the Apple car. (via Yahoo!)

While it's still too early to assume for such things, it's still great to find out what iPhone features should be expected. Aside from the new patent, the upcoming iPhone 8 is expected to sport an OLED display and wireless charging while missing out the lightning port.
