Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has no confirmed release date until now. Yet despite that, rumors continue to emerge regarding the likely launch of the device, directly competing with Apple's iPad Pro 2 once it hits the market.

Rumors of a looming launch of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 this year started when the Redmond-based tech giant ousted the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 from the online store. Reports also claim that this the upcoming Surface Pro 5 is the company's answer to the highly-awaited iPad Pro 2.  Meanwhile, the new Microsoft device is also believed to come with the launch of the Windows 10 Creators Update, which is set to roll out in April this year.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5, meantime, is also rumored to come with an edge over the iPad Pro 2 given its Intel seventh generation Kaby Lake processors. The all-in-one device may also have a surface dial, stylus and cover keyboard, and will likely feature a 12.3-inch Ultra HD or 4K display that will be matched with a higher configuration of graphic support and RAM.

Moreover, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will reportedly have a USB Type-C support and a robust battery. Interested buyers may either use the device as a tablet or a laptop, PC Advisor reported.

Meanwhile, Microsoft introduced Wake on LAN support on its Surface devices that are attached to wired networks via a Surface Docking Station, Surface Ethernet Adapter or Surface Dock. According to reports, this is to make an easier installation of Windows 10.

It is worth noting that the Wake on LAN support may be leveraged via device management tools such as the System Center Configuration Manager, which is available for the Surface Book, the Surface 3, Surface Pro 3 and 4, paired with any of the previously reported accessories, BetaNews reported. Learn more about Microsoft Surface Pro 5 here:
