"Running Man" Named Best Variety Show, PD Thanks International Fans

"Running Man" was named as the Best Variety show during the 12th Annual Soompi Awards. The show received the most number of votes from fans coming from 139 countries all over the world. The show's producing director Lee Hwan Jin expressed how thankful he is to fans from all over the world who always supported the variety show.

"Running Man" is one of the most popular variety shows in Korea today. Despite recent issues in the show such as the departure of one of its regular members, Gary, the show still continued to air in SBS. In a message, the producing director had thankful words to say to the show's fans. "We truly want to thank all the fans of 'Running Man' around the world for the love they have given the show last year. We will do our best to continue to bring joy to fans this year."

This is the second time that "Running Man" won the said award. The cast member of the variety show also thanked fans in an Instagram post. The people behind "Running Man" appreciate the love and support of their fans from different countries in the world.

Soompi Awards which is currently in its 12th year is open to fans of Korean shows from all over the world. The voting took place through Soompi Line from December 19, 2016, to January 16, 2017. The winners for the 12th Annual Soompi Awards include "Legend of the Blue Sea" for Drama of the Year and "Descendants of the Sun" for the Best Kiss. Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho was named as the Best Actor and Song He Kyo was voted as the Best Actress. Votes for the Best Bromance went to Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo. The Best Spot On Couples went to Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun. Of course, "Running Man" is the Best Variety Show.
