‘Kingsman 2’ Release Date Announced For 2017 Slot; Galahad Might Appear Again In Sequel
Following the box-office success of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" in cinemas, director Matthew Vaughn has confirmed "Kingsman 2" with a release date of June 16, 2017 according to a report from Comingsoon.net.
Now that the release date of "Kingsman 2" has been confirmed, it looks like 20th Century Fox cannot wait for this upcoming sequel to happen. Screenwriting had begun since June by Vaughn himself and he might possibly return in his director roles.
The movie was based on Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar's comic book series "The Secret Service" which was published by Icon Comics in 2012 with a total of six issues. The movie stars Taron Egerton as the newbie agent Gary "Eggsy" Unwin who was recruited by his uncle Harry Hart aka Galahad, played by Colin Firth.
We've all seen Colin Firth's character almost dying in the movie, which is quite understandable due to his age. Yet Vaughn is keen on bringing Harrt Hart back for the sequel according to Cinema Blend.
Vaughn said: "A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I'm coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I've got a feeling we'll figure out a way for having Colin back."
Another movie to premiere on the release date of "Kingsman 2" is the Disney and Pixar film "Cars 3." It was announced earlier this month and it was hinted that the storyline will focus back on Route 66 and Route 99.
There are no other details revealed yet for the upcoming "Kingsman" sequel, however it was confirmed that Egerton will return to reprise his role. His character was seen in the mid-credits scene replacing Galahad, and he was reaching out to his mother Michelle, asking her to move out and get away from her abusive husband Dean.
There is more to come for the upcoming "Kingsman 2" movie. Principal photography may start out in April next year.
