Yoo Jae Suk’s Title ‘God’ Is Justified, Says Kim Shin Young
Comedian-TV host Yoo Jae Suk titled "God" is justified, said fellow MC-comedian Kim Shin Young.
The "Nation's MC" is aptly titled "Yoo-neu-nim" - a wordplay of his name Yoo Jae Suk and Ha Neu Nim the Korean term for God - said the 32-year-old female comedian, who revealed how she's grateful to her senior colleague in the industry.
Kim Shin Young shared on MBC's "Section TV Entertainment Relay" Sunday how Yoo Jae Suk's kind words brought her to tears at least once in the past.
"I appeared on 'Come to Play' once and didn't say a single word during the taping of the episode," recounted the comedian, according to Soompi. "Afterwards, Yoo Jae Suk came up to me and said, 'You didn't enjoy that, did you? I'm sorry I wasn't able to look out for you [during the taping]. It wasn't because you're not good. It was because I'm lacking.'"
Kim Shin Young confessed what Yoo Jae Suk said brought her to tears and made her understand why he deserves his beloved title.
"It made me realize just how justified his nickname of 'Yooneunim (Yoo-God)' is," she said.
Comedian Yang Se Hyung also revealed he acquired his variety skills by following Yoo Jae Suk's secret method.
Yoo Jae Suk took home his 13th Daesang or Grand Prize Award in his career at last year's MBC Entertainment Awards and became the first Korean celebrity Friday to have a wax replica in the Grevin Museum.
The beloved entertainer, however, claimed he doesn't like the title.
"This is the first time I'm saying this, but I really don't want to hear my title 'Yoo-neu-nim,'" allkpop quoted the comedian as saying February 9 on "Happy Together."
He added that the title only gives him pressure.
His co-host Park Myeong Soo cracked everyone up when he joked, "But I recently heard you introducing yourself as 'Yoo-neu-nim' on the phone with a customer service agent."
