Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere Answers Lesbian Rumors: 'I Really Love Her, But She’s Not My Girlfriend'
A lot of speculations about Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere's sexual orientation has surfaced online. The rumors about her being gay have widely spread on the internet after a series of photos were posted to her official Instagram account with fellow beauty queen and Miss U contestant Cammile Cerf. Apparently, fans see something mysterious about these photos as the two girls show extreme closeness together. Finally, Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere has answered all the lesbian rumors circulating around.
2017 Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere Not Lesbian
In a report by Philippine TV News Network GMA, French beauty queen Iris Mittenaere confirmed that Camille is not her girlfriend and they are not together. As a matter of fact, Iris loves her boyfriend Matthieu.
"Camille is my best friend and I love my boyfriend Matthieu. I really love her, but I am not with her. She is not my girlfriend," Camille told GMA News.
Matthieu Declercq is a 25-year old handsome lad who has been there to support her throughout the pageant. 2016 Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere and her boyfriend, both from France, were not photographed together publicly. However, in Matthieu's Instagram account, the dental surgery student posted a photo of him cheering for his girlfriend during the coronation night of Miss Universe in Manila, the Philippines on January 30.
Iris is 23 years old, born in a town called Lille in France. Same with her boyfriend, Iris is also taking Dental Surgery. Her advocate after winning Miss Universe is to promote dental and oral hygiene.
2016 Miss U Is France's First Victory After 60 Years
This is the second time that France has won the Miss Universe crown. The first was 60 years ago in the year 1953. At a post-pageant interview, Mittenaere said, "I think France and Europe really need a Miss Universe." She also said that her victory will help cheer up the French people after the terrorist attacks in the recent years.
