Google Asks Employees To Return After Trump's Immigration Order

Trump Blocks Visas, Bans Refugees From Multiple Countries

The CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, has been seriously concerned about the recent executive order on immigration signed by the US president, Donald Trump. It could pose serious problems for the return of many company employees at its headquarters.

The agency Bloomberg had access to an internal statement from Google in which Pichai explained that more than a hundred workers who were abroad would be affected by the ordinance approved by Trump.

In the note, the executive noted that "it was painful to see the personal cost of that executive order in his colleagues." It is no small matter that Sundar Pichai was born and raised in India. Although a good part of the executive's career was done abroad, his basic superior training was done in his own country.

It should be remembered that the decree of the US president vetoed the entry into the territory of his country to citizens from seven Muslim-majority states for 90 days. The list of countries involved was Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Libya, Sudan and Somalia.

Google has asked employees who were in these territories back to the United States before the order comes into force, in addition to recommending seek help from the company area intended for immigration assistance and staff travel.

While it is well known that relations between US technology companies and their president have been complex since the election campaign - most Silicon Valley entrepreneurs turned their backs on Trump - after this, there was a rapprochement. However, the current measures taken by the head of government may be a new mismatch.

"We are concerned about the impact of this order and any proposal that would impose restrictions on workers from Google and their families, or create barriers to bring great talent to the United States, " said a spokesman for Google to Bloomberg.

The Mountain View company is not the only one that has ruled on the action taken by Trump, as Mark Zuckerberg, founder, and CEO of Facebook also recently expressed concern over immigration order. Zuckerberg recalled that he and his wife are descendants of immigrants.
