‘Sherlock’ Season 5 Air Date, Spoilers & Update: Steven Moffat Hints Fifth Installment Possible; Season 4 Expected To End With Deaths, Cliffhangers
The fourth season of the crime drama series has just started but fans of the popular TV show are now anticipating on "Sherlock" Season 5. Now, new reports are claiming that the fifth installment of the BBC series will be released within this year.
Fans have been speculating already about the upcoming "Sherlock" Season 5 after creator Steven Moffat revealed that it is highly possible to happen. Speaking to Independent, Moffat revealed that he does not have plans to end the crime series yet.
"If this is the last time - and I'm not planning on it to be, but it might be - it is possible that we could end it," Steven Moffat has stated when asked about "Sherlock" Season 5. "We couldn't have it ended it on any previous series because they always ended on walloping, great cliffhangers."
Most fans can recall that Steven Moffat has previously implied that Season 4 is going to be the series' last. Benedict Cumberbatch has even supported the statements of the creator by saying that his hectic schedule might not allow them to film "Sherlock" Season 5 even if they want to.
Martin Freeman, on the other hand, has told Radio Times has divulged that he is not sure whether or not "Sherlock" Season 5 is still happening. The actor, however, encouraged fans to enjoy the current season and make the most out of it since the future of the show remains uncertain until now.
Despite the doubts, BBC along with its army of fans have remained positive that "Sherlock" Season 5. Because of this, avid viewers of the popular show have been speculating that Season 4 finale is going to be a major death and cliffhanger - just like the previous final episodes of the prior installments.
