Ericsson, Cisco Announce EWN Wi-Fi Solutions
Ericsson and Cisco will provide a new Internet Protocol (IP) core network which will modernize the carrier's network to meet the growing demand for high-speed broadband and coverage of the seven million subscribers.
In a statement, Ericsson highlights that thanks to this new IP network based on routers, Cisco aggregation services and integration services, Ericsson LTE subscribers can enjoy greater mobile broadband speeds and better coverage for applications.
The solution, which includes Ericsson's integration and deployment services as well as the Cisco ASR 9010 and ASR 1001 routers, will extend the reach of the existing main network, enabling it to support new capabilities and features, including Ethernet, VPN and IPv6 services, according to Bloomberg.
