Fans Not Happy About EXO's Kai New Drama?
It has been announced yesterday, January 11, that EXO's Kai will lead a new drama. This is the idol's first ever lead role if the project pushes through.
Contrary to what is expected, fans of EXO are not happy to hear about the news. Comments on their disapproval on Kai leading a new drama flooded the internet right after the news broke out.
Some of the EXO-Ls (as EXO fans call themselves) said that although they adore Kai and the boys so much, they simply do not think that Kai is ready to take on some lead role yet. They said that Kai's acting is not that good yet, thus, casting him a lead role in a public broadcasting station morning drama doesn't seem like a good idea.
Fans think that Kai, who only appeared in a few web dramas, is not ready to take on a lead role yet. They believe that the idol will only get hate messages if he disappoints viewers with his acting and they don't want that to happen.
Some of the netizens also said that there are a lot of other actors who are far more deserving of such break. Drama producers should not just include idols in the drama, without considering their acting ability, just because they have a lot of followers, the netizens said. This is the main reasons why these idols are getting bashed, they added.
Kai's fans also added that they will appreciate it more if they put him on a supporting role first. And maybe, once his acting skills have already improved, give him a lead role.
Obviously, the fans just wanted to protect Kai. The last thing they wanted is to see him put under a lot of pressure and getting hated after.
'Andante' is a youth drama with actress Jung Da Bin taking on the female lead role. KBS, however, have announced that Kai's casting is not final yet and is still under discussion.
