Greetings from Infinity Challenge Cast

Top-rating "Infinity Challenge" might go on hiatus as actor Kwon Sang Woo's upcoming variety program takes over at the start of the Lunar New Year January 28.

The highly popular MBC entertainment program might go on a voluntary hiatus for the first time since it aired 12 years ago in April 2005.

According to allkpop, an insider revealed Tuesday, "'Infinite Challenge' will be going on a 7-week hiatus. Instead, the 'New Year's Pilot Program' scheduled to broadcast on Saturday evening, consisting of three weeks' worth of content has been reorganized entirely."

This pilot program is none other than the new travel variety show "Forty's Spring" led by the 40-year-old Hallyu star from the hit melodrama series "Stairway to Heaven" Kwon Sang Woo and the 45-year-old comedian Jung Joon Ha.

Kwon Sang Woo and Jung Joon Ha are real life friends but would be working together for the first time in this project geared on showing viewers how a pair of 40-something men can take on a trip to escape their daily lives. Their first trip is reported to Vladivostok, Russia.

While Kim Tae Ho, the producing director for "Infinity Challenge," is still overseas, media outlet Mydaily could not get a definitive statement from the production crew members who only chose not to confirm anything and refused to reveal their stances.

It can be noted that the PD himself addressed the higher ups in a social media post to give the "Infinity Challenge" team a much-needed break.

"If Santa Claus were to give me a present, I wish it was a month for verification and two months for preparation," wrote the PD on Instagram in December 2016, as translated by allkpop.

He added, "Let us live as well. At this rate, something is going to happen."

Co-host HaHa revealed how it took longer to film "Infinity Challenge" which happens Thursdays.

"Filming for 'Infinity Challenge' lasts more than a day. We filmed yesterday, we filmed the day before that, and we even have to film tonight after this," said HaHa.
