Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) is collaborating with "Batman" trilogy producer Michael Uslan to reproduce Korean drama "Resurrection" for U.S. TV.

According to a report by Variety on Oct. 19, KBS announced at a press conference in Seoul on Monday that KBS and U2K Entertainment will work hand in hand to produce Korean versions of American TV series and at the same time co-produce TV adaptations of Korean web cartoons.

U2K was founded by Michael Uslan, David Uslan, Jon Karas, and Jonathan Kim in 2015.

The 2005 drama series "Resurrection" was chosen as the first KBS drama series to be rebooted for the American audience. The drama is top billed by Uhm Tae Woong and Han Ji Min. It tells the story of a man who pretends to be his twin brother to uncover the conspiracy surrounding his father's death.

Korea Times reports on the same day Uslan reportedly plans to repurpose the drama's plot to make it more relatable to the American audience.

KBS Content Business Office manager Jung Ji Young said Uslan chose 'Resurrection' because "it was very popular amongst fans" and he saw "potential in it".

The "Dark Knight Rises" producer has been busy establishing business relations in Asia, of which includes a four-film development deal with China's Huace Group and web cartoon-adaptation deals with Korea's Rollingstory.

Uslan was the not the first to see potential in "Resurrection. In 2010 U.S. production company Kapital Entertainment obtained rights to remake two KBS dramas, including "Resurrection".

Presently, no casting announcements for the U.S. version of "Resurrection" have been made.

In the meantime, KBS is also working on its expansion to America. The Korean broadcasting company entered a format licensing agreement with U.S. producer Chicken Soup for the Soul to create the American version of the hit reality show "Superman Is Back".
