Samsung To Level-Up Mid-Range Smartphones
The smartphone world is moving at two speeds. On the one hand, the most advanced models that are launched to the market at increasingly exorbitant prices. On the other hand, there are devices that embrace the quality-price and become more accessible to average users.
Samsung has decided to leap ahead in the race of producing more user-accessible mid-ranged smartphones as it plans on launching two mid-ranged Galaxy smartphones in 2017. The two phones would accommodate the average range, also trying to bring some intrinsic features like resistance to water and dust, according to GSM Arena.
The two smartphones are A3 and A5. They come equipped, for the first time, with the IP68 which guarantees that they are resistant to water and dust. Distinguished by size (4.7 and 5.2 inches, respectively), the South Korean firm has decided to add this feature already present in its high-end devices like Galaxy S7.
With metallic structure and glass in the rear, both of these elements fuse in and try to take a step further in innovating the design of the mid-ranged phones currently available in the market. The two models are available in four colors black, gold, blue and pink. They also incorporate the NFC technology that forms the basis for Samsung's mobile payment system, Samsung Pay.
Both versions also have remarkable camera features. While the A5 has two (front and rear) 16-megapixel camera with F1.9 aperture, the A3 has a main 13-megapixel primary and 8 -megapixel secondary with the same opening speed. Governed by the Android operating system in its version Marshmallow 6.0.1, the two phones have a more precise autofocus system, according to PC Advisor.
A button exerts a floating camera so that when taking selfies, one can use the screen as a flash front, something that is useful and already present in other rival models such as the iPhone. The camera application allows the use of several specific modes depending on the type of image that has to be captured. Therefore, it integrates some features found in filters and effects applications.
Samsung also promises that the battery of both phones is more durable than the previous models, although it is something that could not be verified at the moment. On paper, the figures move at 3,000 mAh (A5) and 2350 mAh (A3).Equipped with USB Type-C port, the Galaxy A of this season promises to support a microSD card up to 256 GB, which means that users can capture and save content without having to worry about the storage capacity.
