Park Geun Hye Scandal Caused Higher Demand For Beauty Injections
The past year has been crazy for South Korea's political world. The influence-peddling scandal that involved President Park Geun Hye caused chaos all over the country. But if there's one good thing that the national scandal that rocked the whole country caused is the fact that it surprisingly boosted the country's anti-aging shots market.
One of the most, if not the most, unexpected side effects of the Park Huen Hye scandal is it actually triggered a massive craze for beauty injections. It has been revealed by the pharmaceutical companies that after the scandal, anti-aging shots became in demand at upscale hospitals and clinics. It even led some medical institutions to develop pricey anti-aging treatment packages.
This beauty injection craze is said to be caused by the Park Geun Hye scandal. During the investigation on the influence-peddling scandal that caused national rallies, it has been revealed that Park Geun Hye has been receiving anti-aging treatments at a hospital in southern Seoul for the past years under the name 'Gil Ra Im'. Actress Ha Ji Won was even dragged into the issue as 'Gi Ra Im' is the actress' character's name in her drama 'Secret Garden'.
As Park's fascination over anti-aging shots and related treatments was revealed by media reports and prosecutor's investigations, Koreans, especially women, went crazy over the said anti-aging shots. The sudden increase in demand for these beauty products even triggered some pharmaceutical companies to develop more related products.
Some pharmaceutical companies have launched new beauty injections especially targeting rich women. This week alone, the government approved 8 beauty injection products.
Experts, however, warn the public about these new beauty injections. They want to be public to be a little careful in using new anti-aging shots as their effectiveness is not yet fully tested, unlike those products that have been existing in the beauty market for some time now.
