Xbox Project Scorpio is yet to be released, but rumors about its specifications and price are rife in the air. It was announced on the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2016, but fans have been wondering about the gaming experience it would provide.

With a 320 GB memory bandwidth, six teraflops of power, and eight CPU cores, Microsoft's upcoming gaming console does provide a true and effective 4K gaming, reported Christian Times. In addition to the high - end gaming facilities, the yet-to-be released gaming console might include virtual reality readiness.

Project Scorpio might also include HoloLens, which was Microsoft's previous project with VR, and enable VR accessibility in PC gaming.

Named as Xbox 2, Xbox Project Scorpio is also compatible with Xbox One games. However, this feature might not be applicable to all games. As for the price of the game, Games Industry reported that Microsoft may be aiming to battle it out with other upcoming gaming systems at an estimated price of $399. This might be one of the lowest yet reasonable price for such a high - end gaming console like Xbox Project Scorpio.

According to Phil Spencer, Xbox CEO, Xbox will be aiming for "console price point" with Xbox Project Scorpio. Thus, this console is not at all interested in competing with other high - end consoles. It would also include a well balanced platform than focusing on just one component of the gaming.

" We think it's a gamer-centric kind of approach," mentions Spencer. "At the same time being able to innovate with Project Scorpio means we're [also] gonna innovate with hardware [and] traditionally in the console space, when you brought a whole new set of functionality to the console you would sacrifice compatibility, but we're saying your games, your accessories -- they're all going to be forward-compatible with Project Scorpio.

Xbox Project Scorpio will hit the stores next year around the holidays, but Microsoft has yet to announce a specific release date for its upcoming high-end console.
