'The Crown' Season 2: Elizabeth II Criticized For Prime Minister's Relay, Foy Will Star With Jeremy Northam, Harold Macmillan & Alec Douglas-Home.
"The Crown" Season 2 will be a time in Elizabeth II's reign that ushers in the beginning of the Queen's display of political power. This is the time in her rule that witness changes in Prime Ministers, one after another after Churchill's resignation. Claire Foy who's playing the Queen will be exposed to three more casts, Jeremy Northam, Harold Macmillan and Sir Alec Douglas-Home.
"The Crown" Season 2 will kick - off from the closing finale of season 1 depicting the Queen of England, Elizabeth II (Claire Foy) in a heated argument with the Duke of Edinburg, Philip Mountbatten. The couple are confronted with marriage problems involving the Queen's close friend as reported by Gamenguide. Prince Philip got a furious reproach from the Queen on the night before the dinner party in honor of Prime Minister Winston Churchill's (John Lithgow) resignation.

According to Express, the year 1955 to 1965 is the period that will test the Royal Family as the country is confronted by massive upheavals and political problems. Queen Elizabeth II will be criticized for her moves. Prime Minister Eden's (Jeremy Northam) resignation in 1957 was aggravated by the Suez Canal Crisis, hence he was replaced by Macmillan who served as PM for seven long years.
However, the show runner and producers of "The Crown" Season 2 have not yet named the actors who will be playing Macmillan and Sir Alec Douglas - Home. With the exit of John Lithgow, Claire had expressed the special bond that she had with the actor, saying that Lithgow has a very special place in her heart.
