TWICE, Suzy, 2PM or GOT7? JYP CEO Reveals Top Profit Maker in 2016

TWICE unleashed a new set of cuts of Mina, Momo, and Tzuyu where they're cutely posing for their comeback with ''Signal''.

JYP Entertainment's CEO Jung Wook revealed which among their artists were most profitable for the past year.

The JYP CEO divulged the artists' rankings based on profitability in a recent interview with E-Daily.

"TWICE's 'Cheer Up' ranking first place in the yearly chart symbolizes that JYP Entertainment is properly entering the new stage...TWICE was the first group that we produced after we changed our system," allkpop quoted him as saying.

JYP's new system included a break away from the traditional use of J.Y. Park's songs for their title songs. Black Eyed Pilseung composed most of TWICE's hit tracks.

The company also extended their focus outside the country with globally chart-topping hits from TWICE, Wonder Girls, Baek Yerin and Bae Ah Yeon.

The nine-member girl group made their debut only last year through the reality show "Sixteen." They won music program awards from "M! Countdown," "Music Bank" and "Inkigayo" for their title track "Cheer Up."

The CEO admitted that TWICE's success exceeded the company's expectations and advised the new girl group to remain humble as they still have a long way to go. Though he obviously took pride in the success of the girl group, CEO Jung Wook still considered the older JYP artists as the top profit makers for 2016.

"TWICE is in fourth place, following 2PM (#1), Suzy (#2), and GOT7 (#3) in profit...As the company's growth model changes, TWICE has more potential for profit increase," he said.

JYP's top profit maker and eight-year-old boy band, 2PM, released their sixth album "Gentleman's Game" in September just as member OK Taecyeon revealed that the 2PM members are already preparing to enlist for their mandatory military duty.

CEO Jung Wook seemed confident for what lies ahead.

"Currently, JYP's system is becoming more solid. We still have some anxiety, but we are carefully planning for the next year for TWICE and other artists," he said.
