TWICE Holds Record For Highest-Selling Girl Group Album

by Fraeraine / Dec 19, 2016 09:00 PM EST
TWICE unleashed a new set of cuts of Mina, Momo, and Tzuyu where they're cutely posing for their comeback with ''Signal''.

TWICE had successfully set another record!

The girl group's third mini-album 'TWICEcoaster: Lane 1' which was released on October 24th already broke some records barely two months after its released. On December 6th, the album set a record of selling over 150,000 copies on Hanteo chart. That made them the highest-selling girl group in all of Hanteo history.

Gaon chart also revealed that 'TWICEcoaster: Lane 1' has already sold more than 220,000 copies as of now. That made TWICE the highest-selling girl group in Gaon history, as well.

TWICE is, no doubt, the highest-selling girl group in all of KPOP history! That is quite an achievement considering the fact that they haven't been around that long.

The girl group was formed by JYP Entertainment just last year. The said label formed the group through 'Sixteen', a reality show. They debuted on October 20, 2015, with the mini-album 'The Story Begins'. Composing the group are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu.

It's amazing how TWICE was able to steal the music scene with just three extended plays. Six months after their debut mini-album 'The Story Begins', the group released its second extended play 'Page Two' on April 25, 2016.  It also set a record as the highest first-week sales volume for a K-pop girl group in 2016.

And it looks like there's no stopping TWICE in reaching the peak of their career because of just another six months since their very successful second album, the group was able to set another record with their third extended play 'TWICEcoaster: Lane 1'.

That is one amazing achievement considering the fact that they have only debuted barely a year ago. That only seem to prove how talented these girls are.
