Kang Ho Dong is not joining ‘Running Man’.

After news about Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook leaving 'Running Man', the rumor about Kang Ho Dong joining the show follows. However, it has been reported today, December 15, 2016, that the actor declined the offer to join the cast of the longest-running variety show in the country.

Below is the official statement released by SM C&C, Kang Ho Dong's label, with regards to the comedian's decision to decline the offer.

"Hello, this is Kang Ho Dong's label SM C&C.

As it was reported yesterday, Kang Ho Dong was given an offer for SBS 'Running Man Season 2', and he did make the decision to join after giving it a deep thought. However, we found out that Kang Ho Dong's decision has become uncomfortable due to various situations. As a result, we are here to officially announce our stance.

We don't know every detail of the situation, but we don't want Kang Ho Dong's appearance to be uncomfortable to the viewers even a little bit. With that in mind, we feel hurt and sorry but will politely decline the offer.

We apologize for creating complications to the loving fans of 'Running Man', the producers, and SBS associates who made the offer. We apologize."

The six, almost seven, years old variety show was making a lot of headlines these days when after one of the original members of the show, Gary, left the show last October, two more hosts, Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook, were reported to be leaving the show, too.

The show had created more buzz when it was reported that Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook were not leaving the show voluntarily and that they were actually "kicked out". The labels of both celebrities even reported that Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook were actually not aware that they are no longer a part of the second season of 'Running Man' until they saw it on the news.
