L.A. Reid Comments On Why He Did Not Pay Bobby Shmurda's Bail

Many have assumed that Epic CEO L.A. Reid will pay Brooklyn Rapper Bobby Shmurda's bail. The "Hot Boy" with the whole GS9 crew was arrested with serious drug and weapon charges back in December 2014.

Bobby's bail-out requests in the past were denied including his petition weeks ago as the judge declined it. Now, the rapper will have to sit on New York City prison until the next trial on February 12, 2016 reported by MusicTimes.

Moreso, Design&Trend reports that judge Jamed Burke said that Bobby Shmurda is a huge flight risk. According to the article, he has more than enough money to spend for his get away plan.

According to Rolling Stone, Epic Records has been continuously asked by many, especially the rappers' fans, as to why they did not pay for the $2 million bail for Bobby Schmudra.

Now an update on the news reveals Epic CEO L.A. Reid expressing himself regarding the said issue. In an interview with Rap Radar podcast via Vibe, Reid revealed his true feelings.

"It made me feel like people don't know anything about my business," he said. "It's really not their business. That's the truth about it. We're not elected officials here, and we're not at liberty to disclose how we do business."

"It's fair practice, I can tell you that," he added. "But, it's not the industry that it once was. We seriously don't make the money we used to make. That's a fact of life, right?"

"Bobby Shmurda is not the same as Snoop Dogg and 'Murder Was The Case,' who's coming off 'The Chronic' and his first album," the CEO continued. "It's a different era, you know? And, we're a publicly held corporation. We just aren't in the same position we were in back in those days. So, it's a different day."

Moreover, L.A. Reid revealed that he's crazy about Bobby and he thinks about him often. "I feel like, you know, his better days are ahead of him," he shared. "I do believe that. And I think it's unfortunate what has taken place. But, when I heard him, I believed him."

"That's what sold me," he added. "It felt soulful. It didn't feel like someone was play acting and it felt really believable. And, I guess it was."

More news about the Bobby Shmurda and L.A. Reid situation is expected to arise in the coming days.

When the Bobby Schmudra first got arrested, he revealed his sentiments about his record label's refusal to pay for his bail post and said "When I got locked up, I thought they were going to come for me, but they never came," reported by Rolling Stone.

Furthermore, according to Rolling Stone, the rapper's lawyer Matthew Middleton also shared his disappointments towards Epic Records; "These companies for years have capitalized and made millions and millions of dollars from kids in the inner city portraying their plight to the rest of the world. To take advantage of that and exploit it from a business standpoint and then turn your back is disingenuous, to say the least."

Meanwhile, as it was explained by Epic CEO L.A. Reid, record industry doesn't make money like they used to and it appears that rapper's label is a corporation which revealed  that Reid's hands are tied; this uncovers why the record label cannot pay for Brooklyn Rapper Bobby Schmudra's bail .
