Wonder Girls’ contract with their current label, JYP Entertainment, will end this January.

According to an insider, Wonder Girls' contract with their current label, JYP Entertainment, will end this January. Although there has been no official statement yet whether the girl group will renew their contract with the label or not, JYP Entertainment already said that they are considering renewing the group's contract.

"Wonder Girls' contract is ending in January. We are talking about renewing their contract," JYP Entertainment confirmed.

It has been said that both parties are being cautious about the renewal. By regulations, celebrities are allowed to talk with other labels 3 months before their current contract expires. This means they are free to talk with other labels for other options.

Wonder Girls started in 2007 under JYP Entertainment and is co-managed in the United States by Creative Artists Agency. They started to enter the American music industry in 2009 when they performed the English version of their hit single 'Nobody' as the opening act for 'The Jonas Brothers' World Tour'. They are the very first South Korean artists to have entered the Billboard chart when 'Nobody' landed on the 76th spot of Billboard Hot 100 chart. To date, they have recorded to have sold 19,000 albums in America as Billboard had reported.

After they have conquered the American music industry, Wonder Girls was also launched in China in 2010. They have recorded Chinese version of the hits 'Tell Me', 'So Hot' and 'Nobody'. In 2012 they have also made a Japanese debut.

Present members of the group are Lee Sunmi, Park Yeeun, Kim Yubin, and Woo Hyerim. Former members who have left the group are Kim Hyuna, Ahn Sohee, and Min Sunye. Sunmi left the group in 2010 and Hyerim replaced her. In 2015, Sohee and Sunye left the group with Sunmi joining in again.
