Park may deliver 4th address this week.

Rumors about President Park Geun-hye delivering another address this week has been going around the internet today. If the said address to the nation will push through, this will be the 4th time that the scandal-rocked president will be speaking to the people of South Korea regarding the national scandal that involved her and her longtime friend, Choi Soon-sil. This is said to be her last-ditched effort to foil an impeachment vote scheduled later this week.

It was recently announced by the office of the president that Park Geun-hye is planning to formally resign from her office anytime this week. All of South Korea's opposition parties, however, declared to submit a motion to the National Assembly to vote for Park's impeachment. They said they are to wait until Wednesday for Park to officially announce her resignation. If no resignation will be made official until the said date, they will push through with the voting of the impeachment motion on Friday, December 9.

With the possibility of Park doing another address to the nation, people are worried that the president is planning to avoid her impeachment. There's some possibility of Park doing her address at least a day before her impeachment motion is put to vote this Friday. Park may announce during her state of the nation address the exact date of her resignation and it may affect the scheduled vote for her impeachment motion.

"My guess is that if Park declares she would resign by the end of April next year, the impeachment push could lose some steam," says an official from the ruling bloc on a telephone interview with the Yonhap News Agency.

"My expectation is that (the president) will deliver another address by the day after tomorrow (Wednesday), as she has no other choice," he added.
