Korean-Americans Who Support Trump
There are reputable Korean-Americans who supported Trump during the campaign period and a few of them are expected to be given roles in the incoming government.
To name some of these Korean-Americans who supported Trump during his candidacy, we have Lisa Shin, a New York-based eye doctor who delivered a speech at July's Republican National Convention; Michelle Park Steel, Vice Chair of California's Orange County Board of Supervisors; Jason Chung, RNC Asian and Pacific Islander Communications Director; and then there's Marcia Lee Kelly, Director of Operations for the Republican National Convention.
During her speech at the Republican National Convention where Trump won the presidential nomination, Shin said that she believes that Trump is the one "who will preserve the American dream that our parents and our grandparents envisioned for us."
"I am Korean-American. And I am very proud to be a supporter of the next president of the United States, Donald J. Trump!" the doctor even added during her speech.
Both of Shin's parents are South Korean but she was born and raised in the U.S. She was very active in supporting Trump's candidacy. She was actually the one behind the Facebook group that organizes the Korean-Americans who support Trump. She reached out to as many Korean-Americans who are known supporters of Trump and assembled them.
Steel, on the other hand, worked hard in dispelling concerns about the real-estate tycoon's foreign policy and offering to play a bridging role between Trump and South Korea.
Chung acted as Trump's spokesperson for Asia-Pacific outlets.
And lastly, there's Kelly, a long-time Republican, who organized conventions for Trump's candidacy.
