Taeyeon’s New Single '11:11' Released
Girls' Generation lead vocalist, Taeyeon, has released her new solo single "11:11." Taeyeon's agency, SM Entertainment, has uploaded the new track on the company's official Youtube account SMTown Official.
New single "11:11" has come to prove Taeyeon's talent and popularity as one of South Korea's best ballad queens. While "11:11" wasn't as upbeat as her two prior singles, and it didn't present Taeyeon's signature falsetto, the new track still managed to showcase the idol's award-winning vocals.
Also, aside from the melody, "11:11" further deviated from Taeyeon's other two singles with its visuals. Compared to "I" and "Why" that featured bright colors and beautiful landscapes, "11:11" used dark and blue filters in its video that highlighted its sad theme.
Furthermore, in the music video, SNSD's Taeyeon proves she doesn't only have good looks but can also make great expressions as well. "11:11" did not have fancy and colourful visuals as the other two earlier tracks, instead it was filled with meaningful looks and gestures that effectively relayed the song's message about love gone cold and break-ups.
SMTown Official posted Taeyeon's new single at 11 pm, Nov. 1. Fans immediately flocked to the channel in just an hour, "11:11's" view count reached hundreds of thousands. The number was rising fast that as of 12:02 am (KST), YouTube stopped the display of "11:11's" actual view count and got stuck at 461,541.
Diehard fans immediately filled the comment section of the video with complaints as to the view count problem. Aside from the complaints to YouTube though, Taeyeon's "11:11" was heavily rewarded with praises and love from the fans. As it is, everyone expects YouTube to display the real number of "11:11's" views soon.
"11:11" is the third installment to Taeyeon's solo singing career. Her debut album titled "I" was released on Oct. 2015. Her second solo album "Why" was released June of this year. With her two prior albums receiving awards and recognition in multiple music charts both local and international, fans and critics have also high expectations with "11:11." Also, just as Taeyeon's two prior albums getting multi-million views in YouTube, fans expect "11:11" to maintain or beat the record soon.
