Korean Beauty Expo to Run for Three Days in Bangkok
Korean Beauty Exposition 2016 will be showcasing South Korean cosmetics in Bangkok, Thailand from Sept. 22 to 24.
The event co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will be held at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center.
Organizers are expecting approximately a hundred participants from different South Korean enterprises focusing on beauty and cosmetic products for hair, skin and nails. The event will also carry medical services, Yonhap News reported.
The K-Beauty Expo will be the biggest beauty trade platform in the region. Many Korean exhibitors are expected to showcase international brands.
Attendees can learn about the beauty trends in South Korea, development of high-tech cosmetic and beauty market and future of Korean beauty in the United States through seminars and sessions to be conducted by participating companies. Hairstyling shows and make-up demonstrations will also be included in the three-day program.
An officer of the Gyeonggi province said "the expo will be a platform of interchanges for the South Korean cosmetics industry to build networks with Thailand and other neighboring countries."
"We will put our utmost efforts towards advertising our beauty industry and making inroads into the ASEAN market," the officer added.
The event will not just help the Korean cosmetic industry in general but also the mid and small businesses.
Thailand is the largest importer of South Korean beauty products among nations in Southeast Asia. Almost US$100 million worth of Korean beauty products were exported to Thailand.
The Korean cosmetic industry in ten ASEAN members has been steady with a total sales of US$300 million in 2015. This is equivalent to 12% of the sum of Korean cosmetic exports last year.
Business Korea reported that the cultural wave from Korean music and drama result to more people patronizing the country' beauty care industry.
