N. Korea Pursues Nuclear Program 'Permantly'; Ignores International Demands
North Korea was officially declared as a "nuclear-armed state," reports indicate. The Workers' Party Charter, which stands over the nation's constitution, was revised during the congress on Monday to include a "permanent" pursuit of the nuclear weapons program.
Kim Jong-un has notably decided to ignore international sanctions to rid of the nuclear weapon's program. However, a report from Chosun suggests that Kim is set in North Korea remaining as a "responsible nuclear weapons state."
Kim added that North Korea "will not use a nuclear weapon unless its sovereignty is encroached upon by any aggressive hostile forces with nuclear weapons."
A government official added that this inclusion to North Korea's charter will mean that South Korea would need to find a new method of denuclearizing the North.
"Now any attempt at denuclearization would constitute subversion, so Seoul needs to make fundamental changes in its approach to dealing with North Korea's nuclear weapons program."
