iPhone 5se Specs, Release Date And Rumors: Why Should You Be Interested In A Smaller iPhone?
Mysteries surrounding the iPhone 5se specs remain as thick and opaque as they were a month or so back even as the alleged release date of the much-anticipated device closes in.
Rumors are that the device will come with an A-series processor (either A8 or A9), alongside the same 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP front camera from the iPhone 6, panorama and autofocus support for video recording, an NFC chip for Apple Pay and an NFC chip for Apple Pay.
Other key iPhone 5se specs and feature might include: Barometer for tracking elevation (an essential feature for the Health app), VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, as well as 802.11ac WiFi chips from the iPhone 6s.
Word on the street suggests that the iPhone 5se release date is set to fall soon after the Apple's March 18 event.
Quite expectedly, as the alleged release date approaches, many potential buyers are asking the obvious question, Why should they settle with a smaller iPhone 5se?
More importantly, what does Apple aims to achieve by launching a smaller iPhone at a time when other manufacturers seem quite content with the way smartphone sizes have increased over time?
Apparently, on a closer look, it becomes apparent that Apple still finds value in smaller iPhones.
Justifiably so - after all, as Yoni Heisler of BGR claims in this report, nearly 40 percent of all iPhone users are still using 4-in devices or smaller.
That clearly shows that smaller smartphones are still far from giving into obsolescence.
But then, one must also acknowledge that given a choice, most consumers would opt for larger displays (hence larger devices) even if that requires them to compromise with the convenience of being able to use their phones using just one hand.
Considering all those aspects, it's fair to assume that the only way the iPhone 5se will be able to make commercial sense for Apple is by offering a better camera, improved specs, along with features such as Apple Pay.
Given its form factor, though, many analysts are skeptical that the iPhone5se specs would be superior to that of the iPhone 6.
