NBA trade rumors: Chicago Bulls to trade Pau Gasol according to reports

For a team who is not living up to the expectations, changes are expected after the All-Star 2016 break.

NBA trade rumors suggest Chicago Bulls, which is not even in the top four of Eastern Conference, might make a big move before the trade deadline.

Chi-Town has been bugged by injuries all season long and looks like they are going to plug the holes in the lineup by letting go one of their starters.

"In the short term, that means that Pau Gasol should be dealt with next week," ESPN's Nick Friedell reported.

"Gasol is too talented an offensive player to continue languishing on a roster that does not have enough to win a title. Bulls general manager Gar Forman and executive vice president John Paxson should get the best return they can for the 35-year-old big man."

Chicago Bulls parades a 27-25 record at seventh place, just .509 above ninth place Detroit Pistons.

They are among the top teams in the Eastern Conference but their campaign is riddled with injuries to key players. The latest of which to go down is Jimmy Butler who is out indefinitely.

This NBA trade rumor somehow does not make sense for Bulls fans. Pau Gasol is the second best player in the team, stat-wise

He averages 17 points per game, next to Butler's 22. He also hauls 10.9 rebounds per night even if he is already 35.

Amidst all the trade rumors, his teammate Butler, whom he replaced in the recent NBA All-Star game in Toronto, has his back.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst also revealed that Chicago Bulls are looking to strike a contract extension for Pau Gasol.
