Say Goodbye To Google Panda Updates As It Becomes Google's Core Ranking Algorithm

Google last month confirmed that there will be no more Google Panda update as Panda officially merges with the Mountain View-based search giant's core ranking algorithm.

Search engine marketing expert Jennifer Slegg published a Panda guide that was later vetted by Google's PR team.

"Panda is an algorithm that's applied to sites overall and has become one of our core ranking signals," the statement read. "It measures the quality of a site, which you can read more about in our guidelines. Panda allows Google to take quality into account and adjust ranking accordingly."

That quote was later confirmed by Google's Garry Illyes, thus drawing a much-needed conclusion to all the rumors and speculations surrounding the future of Google Panda update.

So, how does this move affect bloggers and webmasters who slog hard and are always on the toes to retain a sweet spot in search engine results page (SERP)?

While the technical nitty-gritty is indeed quite complicated, Panda's integration with Google's core ranking algorithm is expected drastically improve the efficiency of Google's quality-based SERP policy.

With the new policy coming into effect, many websites could witness major changes in their rankings.

Web sites that are negatively affected because of the changes in Google's core ranking algorithm. They can still make their way back to the top as long as the portal includes web pages of better quality. The core ranking algorithm will continue suggesting these portals for detailed queries.

However, their visibility might substantially reduce over time if Google finds out that the site owner's benefit is grossly disproportionate to the benefits visitors are reaping.

Those who fear that the recent changes could lead to down rank of their portals should ideally refer to the search console analytics feature spot the inconsistencies and the flaws in their existing SEO policy.

The search console analytics is immensely beneficial when it comes to finding all the redundant data on a website, which then can be removed or improved to make the portal more accurate and user-friendly.

Worth noting, deleting individual pages with tainted content is not recommended. Instead, webmasters should focus on quality control to remain in Google's good books.

Simply put, the motive behind the search giant's decision to do away with frequent Google Panda updates and instead merge it with their core ranking algorithm is to encourage the practice of being more useful to visitors rather than focusing on how to increase search traffic.
