'Final Fantasy XV' Launch Date And PC Release Might Be Announced At Special Event In March
Though Square Enix has announced that they will be revealing an exact date for the launch of "Final Fantasy XV," it is still uncertain if the publisher will release the game on the PC.
So where will the latest installment of "Final Fantasy" be available when in drops?
According to PC Advisor, pre-orders for both Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One are available now.
However, a NeoGAF user alleged that the game will also be available on the PC.
The publication stated that user KupoNut took a look at the HTML code on the Square Enix's official event page and found out that the game not only has placeholders for both consoles, but also for PC on Windows 10 and Steam. The user also added that a similar code was used on the "Rise of the Tomb Raider page.
At the moment, Square Enix has yet to confirm an official release date for "Final Fantasy XV," although they have been heavily teasing the upcoming game, suggesting that improvements on the title are worth the wait.
The franchise has always been dominantly turn-based when it comes to battling enemies, but that won't be the case with "XV."
As seen in the game's trailer, players will now be able to switch through weapons during battle. Weapons will be mapped to the controller's D-pad for easier selection. Characters will now also be able to sneak up on enemies, although stealth won't be the primary objective of the game.
"XV" was actually announced way back in 2006, and the lack of development updates have led to rumors that the upcoming installment was being cancelled altogether.
However, at E3 2013, Square Enix confirmed that the game was still being developed and that it was being renamed from "Final Fantasy XIII" to "Final Fantasy XV."
Stay tuned for more on "Final Fantasy XV's" release date on the PC as information becomes available.
