Melissa McCarthy Displays Weight Loss In Seven7 Spring Collection Photo; Actress Expand Biz
Melissa McCarthy unveiled the Spring Collection for her Seven7 clothing line, and the "Ghostbusters 3" actress also showed off her weight loss results as well.
"I've always been obsessed with the drape and sex appeal of certain 1970s dresses. The beauty of the maxi dress is that you can throw it on and feel instantly pulled together," she told In Touch Weekly.
Melissa McCarthy also revealed her decision to expand the clothing line to accommodate women of all sizes.
"I think most women in the US are a 14. I think like 72 percent of women are a 14," she explained. "So I think it's a little insane if you're in this business to tell your biggest section of clientele that you don't want their business."
In the official website of Seven7, Melissa McCarthy said that their clothes are "designed to give all women a whole new love of shopping."
"I want to help women lose 'the uniform' and discover their own personal style," she wrote. "Every element is rooted in something special to me. From my kid's drawings to special pieces I've picked up on my travels; all these little gems find their way into my line and nothing goes without my personal stamp on it."
Melissa McCarthy also models some of the clothes and the results of her recent weight loss are clearly evident in the multiple photos published on her website.
Lately, the "Ghostbusters 3" also designed the dress worn by friend LaToya Morgan who was nominated at the NAACP Image Award for "Turn."
Talking about her design for Morgan, she said, "This is the first one that I did for somebody else and I absolutely loved it. I think I've been so lucky and so spoiled. I'm so nuts, I've always thought, 'Why don't I do it myself?' And I've had so much fun with that. I think it's tricky dressing for a formal event."
Melissa McCarthy started on her weight loss path while making last year's "Spy."
Reportedly, the 45-year-old actress even took martial arts to help her shed off the excess pounds. Unverified reports alleged that she lost as much as 75 pounds.
