'Dad's Army' Movie Cast Parades In World Premiere; Catherine Zeta-Jones Steals The Spotlight!
The "Dad's Army" movie cast members paraded at its world premiere with lead actress Catherine Zeta-Jones stealing the spotlight.
The cast of "Dad's Army" were in complete attendance for its world premiere held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, England.
But the 46-year-old actress Catherine Zeta-Jones served as the apple of the eye for the event when she stunned onlookers in a blue gown that flaunted her long pins.
The actress, who plays as a glamorous journalist Rose Winters in the comedy movie, was with co-star Toby James for the premiere.
The Hollywood Life even noted that she narrowly escaped a possible wardrobe malfunction because of her thigh-high slit that exposed her legs.
The report said that a sudden gush of wind blew up her skirt but the actress was quick to cover it up.
"Dad's Army" is based on the BBC sitcom set during the World War II which evolves on the story of the home guard left behind to protect Britain from the Nazi attacks.
Talking about working with the cast of "Dad's Army," Catherine Zeta-Jones said in an interview with TV3 that it was "great" being part of the movie.
"It was everything I hoped it to be, it was all these great actors, knew their lines, knew what they were doing," she said. "We were laughing all the way through it and it just reminded me how much I love being in the UK to work and to be with British actors. It's nice to come home and this was like coming home to a cup of Ovaltine, nice and cosy."
"Dad's Army" sitcom was first shown in BCC in 1968 which lasted until 1977.
All the characters were brought back in the movie, with Olivier Parker as the director.
The "Dad's Army" cast members are veteran actors Sir Tom Courtenay, who plays Corporal Jones, and Frank Williams, who reprised his role from the TV series as Reverend Timothy Farthing.
Adding in the list is Bill Nighy who portrayed Sergeant Wilson; Mark Gattis as Colonel Theakes; Toby Jones as Captain Mainwaring; Blake Harrison as Private Pike; and Michael Gambon who plays Private Godfrey.
