Jeremy Lin #7 of the Charlotte Hornets shoots the ball against the Orlando Magic during a preseason game on October 3, 2015 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.

Charlotte Hornets have done really well in sports lately. For the first game of the pre-season, point guard Jeremy Lin hits news headlines as he lead his team to victory against Orlando Magic as reported by 2paragraphs.

Jeremy Lin's news update means that his tenure in Charlotte Hornets seems better compared to his tenure with LA Lakers. Playing against division rival Orlando Magic, the Hornets were able to pull off a rally victory in a close 106-100 score. Lin led all Hornets scorers with 17 points.

As for Orlando, it is power forward Andrew Nicholson who lead his team's scores. He is known in the last pre-season for putting up to 23 points on 9 of 14, shooting from the field, as well as making the winning shot against their rival Miami Heat. Lin, however, is known to be really good for coming out of nowhere and scoring more than the expected points, Vavel writes.

Four from Hornets have double figure scores towards the end of the game - including starting point guard Kemba Walker who made 13 points and 8 assists. Walker, along with shooting guard Jeremy Lamb, scored a combined 20 points in a 37-point third quarter which robbed Orlando off its first half advantage. Lin was able to add 7 assists to his 17 points which helped seal the deal, putting a late Orlando comeback attempt into backfire with a clutch field goal within the last 20 seconds.

His fans will surely note that not only he was successful on the shot, but that he was in the game during crunch time to do it. This could signify that Lakers coach Byron Scott's unproductive tenure over Lin's minutes have been a thing of the past.

Lin, 27, was born in Torrance, LA County from a Christian family. He was the captain of Palo Alto High School during his senior year in high school; however he did not receive any scholarship offers after graduation. Despite this, he was able to get a contract deal in 2010 with Golden State Warriors, followed by Houston Rockets and New York Knicks in 2011-2012 seasons.
