‘Pacific Rim 2’ Cast: Guillermo Del Toro Wants Maisie Williams In; Wants Her To Be Jaeger Pilot

Despite delays in the production of "Pacific Rim 2," filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says he wants "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams to be a Jaeger pilot in the film, according to Collider.
Recently, headlines with regard to the release date of "Pacific Rim 2" have not been good with reports stating that production has been delayed and that the film will no longer be out on its intended 2017 release.
However, it seems that del Toro, who will be returning to helm the film, is still very much into the project, even dropping a name of a star whom he wants to join Charlie Hunnam as a Jaeger pilot.
Del Toro reportedly took to Twitter to express his wish for actress Maisie Williams to join the cast of "Pacific Rim 2" via his official Twitter account, according to a report on Screen Crush.
Had lunch with Maisie Williams yesterday. Remarkable. Dammit- if PR2 happens, that girl is getting a Jaeger.

"Had lunch with Maisie Williams yesterday," he wrote on his tweet.
Furthermore, the director seems to want Williams in the film as a Jaeger pilot, saying, "Remarkable. Dammit - If PR2 happens, that girl is getting a Jaeger."
However, according to ScreenRant, thought del Toro seems to be very excited announcing his desire to have Williams in "Pacific Rim 2," it is still better not to assume that the filmmaker is not officially making an offer to cast her in the film.
In addition, on his Twitter post, he did say "if PR2 is happens," which means he is only referring to the possibility of "Pacific Rim 2" ever seeing the light of day in the big screen.
In related news, the details of what would go down in "Pacific Rim 2" is still a vague notion as of the moment. The only detail provided so far is based on del Toro's previous announcement with regard to the return of the surviving characters from "Pacific Rim."
