Ryan Reynolds found himself explaining why he and wife Blake Lively christened their baby daughter James, a name that is typically given to boys.

On the Friday episode of "Good Morning Britain," hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard made an inquiry on his baby's unconventional name.

The "Deadpool" star said he and his wife named their daughter after his late dad as a tribute to him. James C. Reynolds died in October last year, after 20 years of battling with Parkinson's disease.

"In the spectrum of weird celebrity baby names, I feel like we're not really breaking any new ground here," said Reynolds, as reported by Mirror.

"I mean, I didn't call her Summer Squash Meadow Lark, or something. I also thought of all the letters being silent in her name, so it would be just be 'Haa.'"

Ryan Reynolds went on to share the joys of being a father, and even bragged his 13-month-old baby with Blake Lively is "teething at the moment."

"I love being a father. I don't want to be one of those celebs who talks about being a parent like they're the only person in the world who has ever done it," said Reynolds, as shared by ABC News. "It's the most common thing in the world but the most profound. It's super fun. I just love it."

Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively welcomed baby James in Dec. 16, 2014. The 39-year-old actor kept the birth date of his daughter undisclosed, until he took to Twitter last year to post a hilarious and unusual birthday message for her.

In the message, he wished James a happy birthday, claiming that he lost his virginity but is thankful to have a daughter, according to Mail Online.

The "Deadpool" actor has found himself frequently talking about fatherhood lately. He once even said that he did everything from waking up in middle of the night to changing diapers. But he said he did all these with a smile on his face.
