Many musicians and top-billed actors have already appeared as part of "Empire" season 2 cast, but most of them played minor roles that hardly impacted the show's storyline.

However, the latest spoilers for "Empire" season 2 revealed that the show will welcome another cast member that could be the game changer for Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), especially.

"Lucious Lyon's stint behind bars at the start of Empire's second season may have just been a warmup," TV Line reported.

"The Fox drama has cast Morocco Omari (Homeland) in a major recurring role as an FBI hotshot who'll cause trouble for the ousted head of Empire Entertainment - and he might wind up being a series regular."

The entertainment publication further revealed spoilers for "Empire" season 2 as it said that the new cast member is someone who worked his way to the top.

"It's expected that Tariq will go 'toe-to-toe' with Lucious - without any flinching," TV Line wrote. "That's where his smooth style - tempered by "an air of the streets" - will come in handy. He moves without remorse, yet will always offer a person what's fair before taking them out."

The last "Empire" season 2 episode ended with Lucius getting stripped of his company, no thanks to his youngest son's decision to side with the board.

When "Empire" season 2 resumes next month, it will tackle the battle between Lucius and son Jamal for Song of the Year, and spoilers hint that this will not end well.

"Lucious and Jamal's showdown for the American Sound Award's 'Song of the Year' statuette will be a big arc when Empire returns," TV Line wrote, when a fan asked for "Empire" season 2 spoilers.

"We all know that one single award doesn't mean everything," showrunner Ilene Chaiken said.

"Empire" season 2, episode 11 will air on March 30, almost three months since the mid-season finale.
