Charlie Puth’s New Song With Selena Gomez Hits Web As ‘Suffer’ Singer Insists They’re Friends
As Charlie Puth's new song with Selena Gomez entitled "We Don't Talk Anymore" hits the web, the "Marvin Gaye" singer revealed his feelings for Justin Bieber's ex.
Speaking to Seventeen Magazine, Puth admitted that he did have feelings for the "Hands to Myself" singer. When asked point blank whether he had a crush on Selena Gomez, he said, "I mean... who wouldn't?"
But the singer insisted they are just friends, even if the chemistry between Charlie Puth and Selena is clearly apparent in their new song, which MTV noted as an "exceptionally happy-sounding breakup song."
Reportedly, it was Puth's idea that they do the song together.
"I met up with Selena, and she went through a very public relationship, on and off, and she could just relate to the song and the lyrical sentiment," he told MTV.
"I was playing the song for her, and she just started singing the second verse. I got chills. I was like, 'Oh my gosh, that sounds so real. You need to sing on it.' And she said yes."
But Charlie Puth is no stranger to speculations about his relationships, even before the Selena Gomez and the release of their song. And the "Marvin Gaye" singer admitted he has gotten quite used to it.
"People are taking an interest in the music if they're getting concerned about my personal life," he told Seventeen. "They can speculate."
As if this couldn't get any better, Selena herself did not deny that there was an "instant chemistry" between the two. She dished the details in an interview with Billboard published last December.
"I just met him a few months ago and we hit it off and we're having so much fun," she told Billboard. "He pulls out the best in me. It's really great. He's super talented and it was fun. It just kind of happened organically, to be honest."
