Soyou of all-girl band Sistar was hailed as the "new K-pop diva" after her new duet entitled "Lean on Me" topped online music charts following its release on September 22, Korea Times reported on September 24.

The single dominated online music charts such as Naver Music, Melon, Mnet and Bugs Music for a couple of days. Soyou collaborated with 10 cm vocalist Kwon Jeong Yeol for the song. Aside from that, the duet ranked third on other major online music charts, Soompi noted on the same day.

"As of right now on September 22, Soyou and Kwon Jung Yeol's "Lean On Me" recorded number one on all real-time music charts Melon, Bugs, Mnet, Olleh Music, Genie, Naver Music and Monkey3, for a perfect all-kill," Starship Entertainment announced in a statement.

"We think a perfect "healing song" has been born with Soyou and Kwon Jung Yeol's collaboration. We hope this song will be a song of comfort to many people."

Starship Entertainment handles the four-member band Sistar, which made its debut in 2010.

A representative from the agency says, "Both the melody and lyrics are very comforting and warm. It's very healing."

"The song is for numerous singles in Korea, many of those whom gave up on the idea of dating, marriage, and childbirth due to skyrocketing inflation and the difficult economy. It's a song of hope and encouragement."

Meanwhile, Soyou is known for her collaborations with other artists including J2's Woo, hiphop duo Geeks, South Korean rapper Mad Clown and other known artists.

The 23-year-old singer took the spotlight after her collaboration with Junggigo for the song "Some" became a hit in 2014. On the same year, her duet "The Space Between," which features Kwon Sun Il and Park Yong In, also became a hit.

"I have been supported by awesome artists every time I collaborated," she said.
