'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Update: Hayden Christensen Already Training For Anakin Skywalker Force Ghost Role?
Though it wouldn't be hitting theaters until May 2017, fans are monitoring news about the cast and production of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" as early as now. Is there truth to rumors that Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming movie?
Amid rumors that Hayden Christensen will be part of the cast for the 2017 "Star Wars" movie, many fans are theorizing what the plot of Episode VIII will be.
"Assuming the sources are correct, there are several ways that Episode 8 could, in theory, put a spotlight back on Christensen," Screenrant.com wrote. "As suggested, the most obvious explanation is a Clone Wars-era flashback - featuring a fully-powered Jedi version of Anakin Skywalker."
"Johnson could get-double duty out of an Anakin flashback: enriching present events with original trilogy ties while also providing audiences with a memorable Anakin Skywalker fight sequence - one that fleshes out the prequels' (often) wooden portrayal."
Hayden Christensen had earlier said that portraying the role of Anakin Skywalker in the "Star Wars" trilogy prequel movies might have been the reason why he didn't pursue any movie of TV projects after it.
"I guess I felt like I had this great thing in Star Wars that provided all these opportunities and gave me a career, but it all kind of felt a little too handed to me," Hayden Christensen recently said, as quoted by Vanity Fair in a separate report.
"I didn't want to go through life feeling like I was just riding a wave," he added
"You can't take years off and not have it affect your career," Christensen said, as quoted by MTV.com. "But I don't know - in a weird, sort of destructive way, there was something appealing about that to me."

Disney is yet to announce official details about the "Star Wars: Episode VIII" cast including whether Hayden Christensen will be part of it or not.
