'Scandal' Season 5 To Focus On Jake Ballard's Backstory? Olivia Pope Realizes He's Mr. Right?
Though "Scandal" mainly revolves around the love team of President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and fixer Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), many viewers have learned to love Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) even if his character was initially positioned to be "the other guy" in the love story.
And now that the mid-season premiere of "Scandal" season 5 is fast approaching, Jake Ballard fans are hoping that they would be seeing more of the former B613 command than they did before the season break.
Will fans see more of Jake and Olivia on the upcoming episodes of season 5?
"A new promo was just released for Kerry's hit show Scandal - and it's super steamy!" Just Jared wrote a few days ago. "The short teaser shows Jake (Scott Foley) telling Olivia that he doesn't want to wait for her, and she says 'then don't.' Then they make out."
When asked whether his character will be pursuing or moving on from his feelings for Olivia in the upcoming episodes of season 5, Scott Foley's answer was rather negative.
"He had tried to be the good friend throughout her ridiculous ponderings and questions about 'Should I marry Fitz?,'" Scott Foley previously told TV Line last month. "But once he found out that she let Rowan out and Rowan then killed his wife, I think he was done."
"I so respect him for saying what he did and telling her that she's become the woman he father always wanted her to be... I think that he's done for now," the actor added.
Despite the possibility that Jake and Olivia wouldn't be the main love team for the rest of season 5, there are theories that Ballard's backstory will be featured in the upcoming episodes.
"I found out that 'Jake's' not his real name, which is sort of interesting! So I think there's more to come on that front," Scott Foley previously told Variety about his character in "Scandal."
Many fans of Jake Ballard and Olivia Pope's love team are excited to witness the mid-season 5 premiere of "Scandal" on February 11, 2016.
