Why Ronda Rousey Refuses To Watch Her Knockout Loss In Fight With Holly Holm

Holly Holm - Ronda Rousey rematch fight won't happen soon

Holly Holm's knockout of Ronda Rousey in their last fight has been played over and over by MMA fans.

The shocking knockout was witnessed by millions of people from around the globe when underdog Holly Holm downed Ronda Rousey in the second round with a head kick.

But the former undefeated women's MMA champ is still stinging from the results of her fight with the new queen of the Octagon.

Ronda Rousey's trainer said it might not be the time yet for the 28-year old fighter to see the video of her KO at the hands of Holly Holm.

"It's not about wanting to watch, it's about whether or not the timing is right or if it's even necessary," Rousey's coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, said in an interview with ESPN.

"I know how to speak to Ronda. I know Ronda very well. She doesn't need to watch that fight. The fight is over. It's about what we're doing now. It's my job to watch the footage and I'm dedicating everything I have to Ronda's rematch with Holly."

Tarverdyan also took responsibility for the loss his fighter experienced.

"I'm taking the blame," he said. "I'm OK with that. I know what reality is. I accept reality. Reality is people will talk all kinds of unnecessary stuff. As long as my fighter believes in me, I believe in my fighter and we'll move on from there."

Some would think that "moving on" can only happen if she agrees to another fight with her recent tormentor. However, a Holly Holm-Ronda Rousey rematch has been put on hold as the former is set to face Miesha Tate on UFC 196, which will take place on March 5.

Rousey, meanwhile, is still on a medical suspension but UFC president Dana White insisted she will fight before the year ends. He also gives Ronda Rousey enough rest before her next bout.

"This woman has done so much in the last three, three and a half years for the UFC, for the sport, for the women's division," White told Evan Doherty of Yahoo! Sports.

"She's been working non-stop, like 30 jobs. What this woman has accomplished is incredible. If she wants time off, she can have as much time off as she wants," he said of Ronda Rousey.
